Coach: Jen Deschenes (1st season)

Last year’s record: 3-10

Key departures: Kaylie McNally, Dannielle Forrest, Camille Lawson, Anjali Rowe.

Key returnees: Sarah Wojtowicz, Audrey Orwa, Lauren Zadzilko, Stasha Greenalch, Ashleigh Beauford, Laura Buonocore, Wilmarie Rodriguez, Tina Sawyer.

Outlook: Newington has a new face at the helm of the girls outdoor track team. Jen Deschenes is entering her first year as the team’s head coach, joined by Bridget Teevan who is an assistant. Deschenes is unsure of how the year will go, but she is optimistic.

“It’s hard to say how the season will go,” Deschenes said. “We graduated a number of athletes who were high scorers for us, but I think we can rely on this young to make up for it.”

Newington graduated three members of the 4x100 relay team, but the team is working hard with Wilmarie Rodriguez and Tina Sawyer to help fill that void.
